Privacy
This notice covers the founding list on playsailearth.com. Version of 8 November 2026.
Who we are
Sail Earth is run by Devin Jones, trading as Sail Earth, who is the controller of the data described here. Write to hello@playsailearth.com about anything in this notice.
What we keep
When you join the founding list we keep a record of your consent:
- your email address,
- the time you agreed,
- which version of the sign-up wording and of this notice you saw,
- the page you signed up on.
Nothing else: no name, no location, no record of your device.
Why we keep it
To email you Sail Earth's launch news and founding offer, starting on launch day. We send nothing before launch. We rely on your consent, which you give by ticking the box, and you can withdraw it at any time. The record of your consent lets us show what you agreed to and when.
Who else handles it
Cloudflare hosts this site and stores the list for us, as our processor under its data processing terms. Like any web host, Cloudflare handles your connection's IP address to deliver the page. Our sign-up code holds that address in memory for a few minutes to slow down repeated tries, and never stores it.
When you start filling in the form, the page loads Cloudflare Turnstile, a check that tells people from automated sign-ups. Turnstile looks at signals from your browser and connection. Cloudflare also uses those signals to improve its bot detection, and for that use it is responsible for them itself under the Turnstile privacy addendum.
Cloudflare's network is worldwide, so your data may be processed outside the UK and the EU, under the safeguards in its data processing terms. We do not sell the list or share it with anyone else. Before we send the launch email we will name the service that sends it here.
What is stored on your device
| What | Set by | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| No cookies, local storage or similar of our own | This page | The page works without them | Not applicable |
| Turnstile's security data (it may set a cookie such as cf.turnstile.u) | Cloudflare Turnstile, once you start filling in the form | Strictly necessary: it stops automated sign-ups | Set by Cloudflare; see the Turnstile privacy addendum |
| A security cookie such as __cf_bm, if Cloudflare's bot protection asks for one | Cloudflare, as our host | Strictly necessary: it protects the site from abuse | Up to 30 minutes |
Analytics
This page runs no analytics or advertising code, so there is nothing to switch off. If we add privacy-friendly counts later, this notice will say so first, and you will be able to turn them off.
How long we keep it
Until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Every email we send has a link to unsubscribe. If you unsubscribe, we keep only a note of your address so that we never email it again. If Sail Earth has not launched by the end of 2027, we will delete the whole list.
Your rights
You can ask to see what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. Write to hello@playsailearth.com from the address you signed up with. We answer within one month.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, write to hello@playsailearth.com with "Privacy complaint" in the subject. We will confirm that we have it, look into it and reply within one month. If you are still not satisfied, you can complain to the Information Commission, the UK's data protection regulator (it took over from the Information Commissioner's Office on 30 September 2026), or to the data protection authority where you live.
Age
The founding list is for people aged 16 and over.
Changes
If we change this notice, the new version and its date will be here. If we ever want to use your address for something new, we will ask you first.
